Valley View has two on-campus after-school programs with supervision after class dismissal: Youth Services and LA’s Best. Additional after school enrichment curriculum is in progress this year.
Students who qualify through special testing for the RSP (Resource Specialist Program) may participate with the Resource Specialist teacher who works with students needing academic help. This is not a tutoring program but is designed to help children with special needs.
Students who qualify for the GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) program are serviced within the classroom setting.
Students who qualify through physical skills assessment may participate in an Adaptive PE (Physical Education) Program. And Adaptive PE teacher comes to the school on a regularly scheduled basis and works with students in small groups on a classroom pull-out basis to improve physical coordination skills.
Students who qualify through special testing may participate in a Speech Therapy Program. A speech therapist comes to the school on a regularly scheduled basis and works with student in individual or small groupings on a classroom pull-out basis to improve and correct speech patterns.
